Letter from Director

Convince your boss — and yourself — why this workshop matters now.

Welcome from the CEO

On behalf of the Strong Spirit Aboriginal Services team, I am honoured to welcome you to this workshop series dedicated to a fundamental pillar of our community's self-determination: securing and managing the funding that keeps our programs running.

These workshops bring together community leaders, program managers, practitioners and partners from across the country. Funding is not simply paperwork — it is the practical means by which our communities set their own priorities, build their own services and hold their own futures.

Too often, strong community-led projects miss out because grant guidelines are complex, timelines are tight and organisations are stretched. This one-day workshop is designed to shift that: to build local capability in project design, program logic, budgeting, evidence and persuasive writing so our applications compete on their merits.

Over the course of the day, our focus is squarely on practical action. You will work through real criteria, real budgets and real evidence, and leave with tools you can apply immediately to live grant applications. For Strong Spirit Aboriginal Services, this means building the localised capability, cultural protocols and confidence needed for our organisations to control their own funding pathways.

Thank you for your continuous guidance, leadership and unwavering commitment to this vital work as we embed our inherent rights as First Peoples into genuine, shared decision-making.

Warm regards,

Jess Morris
